Chapter 5 The End

“Hey Zetsu-san…”

Zetsu sighed,

“What is it, Tobi?”

“When did Leader-sama’s partner have a baby?” He asked innocently. Zetsu blinked.

“…What brought this up?” His white side asked tentatively.

“She’s holding one, Zetsu-san.” Zetsu looked at the kunoichi. Indeed, She was holding a baby.

‘Babies are so…repulsive…’ His black side thought, ‘They’re all fat, and have almost no muscle…’ His black side shuttered in disgust.

‘I think it’s kind of cute…’ Zetsu’s white side thought, completely ignoring what the other had said

‘All I know is that we won’t be eating it any time soon…’

“What is its name?” Tobi asked after a slow approach, he didn’t want to scare it or anything…

Konan smiled,

“Her name is Ayeya.” Ayeya looked at Tobi with her mismatched eyes, and made a grabbling motion with her little hands.

“I think she wants you, Tobi…” Konan started, looking at him, “Would you like to hold her?” She noticed that his shoulders dropped slightly.

“As much as Tobi would like to…Tobi is afraid he will drop little Ayeya-chan…” The lone female in the whole Akatsuki smiled at the masked boy, and said,

“As long as I’m here, you won’t.” She noticed how Tobi straightened.

“Tobi does not know what to do…” Konan kept the gentle smile on her face,

“I’ll teach you.”

“Look! Zetsu-san!” Tobi exclaimed, walking up to him.

“Tobi is holding Ayeya-chan!” He said, pride in his voice.

The white side of Zetsu wanted to smile, where the dark side wanted to growl.

“Very good, Tobi…” Zetsu congratulated, which made Tobi beam under his mask, then Zetsu growled and Tobi’s hidden smile fell

“I-is something wrong Zetsu-san?” Tobi asked, confused and slightly scared.

“No. nothing is wrong.” Zetsu said, lying through his teeth

‘You had to go through this now?’ The white side scolded the dark one. The dark side growled again.

‘Damn that bag of fat…’

‘Now that is no way to talk about a baby.’ The white side said sternly, scolding the dark side again.

‘But with her around, Tobi will spend less time with us…’ The white side paused. Then stated,

‘That is still no way to talk about a baby.’

“Zetsu-san…?” Tobi asked, cocking his head to one side. Zetsu blinked his gold eyes.

“Yes, what is it Tobi?”

“Would you like to hold her?” Zetsu was taken a back.

‘Hold her…?’ Both sides thought.

“Sure…”

“There…” Tobi said, after taking a few minutes to show Zetsu how to actually hold a baby.

“…” Zetsu and Ayeya started at each other for a long time, then Ayeya giggled and made ‘grabby-hands’.

‘You know…’ The dark side said, after staring into Ayeya’s mismatched eyes, ‘Maybe babies aren’t so bad after all…’

“You’d make a good mommy, Zetsu-san.” Tobi said happily, effectively ruining the moment

“Shut up, Tobi.”

Konan giggled quietly at the scene.

‘Aww, how cute…’ She thought, smiling slightly at the sight of Zetsu holding a baby (which he would deny later).

“Pein, look,” She told her partner who had just came into the room, “Isn’t that cute?” She gestured over the Zetsu, Tobi and Ayeya.

“…We should take a picture.” He said after staring in disbelief for a few seconds. Konan giggle again,

“I’ll go get the camera.”
